The morning of May 27th, Vice Governor of Anhui Zhou Xian, Deputy Secretary-General of Provincial Government Tan Weiguo, Director of Provincial Food and Drug Administration Wu Lihua, Deputy Director of Provincial FDA Xu Hong, Deputy Director of NO. 7 Secretariat of Provincial General Office Tao Gang, Deputy Director of Provincial FDA Office Huo Ronghua, Provincial Government Representative Wang Lizheng inspected Anhui Biochem. Deputy Mayor of Fuyang Li Hong, Director of Fuyang Market Supervision Administration Du Yumin, Head of Third Sub-Bureau of Provincial FDA Wang Kai, Deputy Secretary of County Party Committee of Taihe Pan Jianghui as well as County Member of Standing Committee and First Deputy County Chief of Taihe Liujian accompanied the visit.
Governor Zhou first inspected production workshop and production lines of Anhui Biochem. President Wang Zhibang introduced Lamivudine (the first drug to treat Hepatitis B in China) production shop as well as production line expansion of Lopinavir and Ritonavir (the clinical products used for COVID-19 treatment) to the top officials in detail. President Wang said that more than 21 production lines with old production process are eliminated whereas new equipment such as three-in-one, six-in-one, and screw vacuum pump are introduced. He also highlighted efforts of Anhui Biochem to improve the working environment of workshop workers and to achieve clean production and automated production, “With total investment of 63 million RMB, our efforts enables clean production and automated production and allows enhancement drug quality and work safety”.
Governor Zhou highly accredited Anhui Biochem’s effort of donation and production of anti-viral drugs during the outbreak of pandemic. He also inquired about significance of China-Indian Industrial Park to enterprise in Taihe.
President Wang reported in detail the progress made on China-India Industrial Park and said that it will bring positive impact on the pharmaceutical enterprises in the park, “The park would bring new opportunities to areas of "orphan medicine", research and development, registration and certification, and introduction of new technologies”.
Governor Zhou stressed that, “Specializing in antiviral medicine is right for Anhui Biochem. The outbreak of pandemic has notified the significance of producing preventative drugs whereas simultaneously focusing on treatment drugs. Anhui Biochem should continue to produce Anti-AIDs drugs and to develop more anti-viral prevention drugs”.
