On April 28, the inaugural Global Merchants and Professional Markets Matchmaking Conference and the 26th China Commodity Exchange Market Conference were held at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. During the event, Skyee, a member company of Lakala, met with representatives of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Guangzhou to exchange views on China-Nigeria trade, the cross-border payment and settlement needs of Nigerian merchants sourcing from Guangzhou’s professional markets, and how financial technology can improve the efficiency of trade-related fund flows.

For Chinese suppliers, uncertainty around payment timing and settlement amounts may also affect order acceptance, inventory preparation, delivery, and cash flow planning. Exchange rate volatility and information asymmetry create additional transaction costs and delivery uncertainties for both sides.
